Shipping and Marine 3D Modelling & Visualisation |
|
Utilising both new and traditional techniques, Severn Partnership has the skills and experience to survey and CAD model a wide variety of marine vessels in any environment. Our 3D Laser Scanner is ideally suited for quickly and safely surveying the complex and intricate details on-board any ship or on any off-shore structure. The data from the laser scanner can then generate both 2D and 3D CAD, which can be used for many different applications.
Shipping and marine 3D laser scanning and modelling applications include:
- Traditional Ship Surveys - creation of 2D CAD ship surveys using both traditional surveying techniques and 3D laser scanning
- Accident and Legal Investigations - laser scanning and 3D modelling can capture a 3D image of an accident for use in legal investigations. For more information see our Legal Investigation webpage
- Marketing and Media - 3D models and visualisations can be used in promotional campaigns, media releases or simply to impress clients
- Archiving of Heritage Vessels and Structures - the keeping of 3D historical records can help specialists analyse marine vessels and structures better and help in restoration projects
- Deformation Analysis - damaged or collapsing structures can be monitored using detailed 3D models
- Structural Alterations - any alterations can be planned before, monitored during and analysed after using Laser Scanning and 3D modelling techniques
- Computational Analysis - 3D models can be used for Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and within other Computational Analysis tools
Past projects include:
- 3D laser scanning and modelling of the world's largest cable laying ship, the Cable Innovator in Hong Kong
We can create deliverables for AutoCAD, Autodesk, SketchUp, Microstation, Cyclone, Pointools and many more.
