Railway 3D Modelling & Visualisation |
|
Severn Partnership has been involved with railway surveying since 1994 and has worked in railway projects all over the country from Aardgay in Scotland to Cornwall in the South West. With this experience we can offer a wide range of 3D modelling and visualisation services tailored to the needs of individual clients within the rail industry.
In 2009 we acquired the Amberg GRP system FX for trolley based Helical Scanning; giving us the ability to laser scan over 1km of track per hour through tunnels.
Some of the services offered include:
- Signal Sighting - the placement and visibility of railway signals is critical to the safety of existing railway lines and the design and development of new ones. We can provide basic or complex 3D models of these signals with accurate positional data for use in signal sighting software
- Collision Detection - utilising 3D models of trains within a virtual rail environment can help companies detect if any track or train alterations will cause clearance issues or collisions, before construction has even started
- Computational Analysis - 3D models can be used for Aerodynamic testing, Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and within other Computational Analysis tools
- Deformation Analysis - Throughout the rail industry there is a constant need to analyse the deformation of the rail environment and its structures. 3D models can help provide a physical record to perform computational testing or for the reviewing of changes
- Marketing and Media - 3D models can be used in promotional campaigns, media releases or simply to impress clients
- Site Alterations - any alterations can be planned before, monitored during and analysed after using Laser Scanning and 3D modelling techniques
We can create deliverables for AutoCAD, Autodesk, SketchUp, Microstation, Cyclone, Pointools and many more.
